LANDS IN ARGENTINA

Terrains in Argentina are a good investment

Argentina is blessed with an endowment of land suitable for some of the best agriculture in the world. It ranks 7th in the world for total land suitable for agriculture. At the same time, its importance is not only its quantity, but also the excellent agro ecological quality.
These traits result in high per hectare yields, some of the highest in the world.
Due to the increased profitability in the agropecuary sector over the last three years, the demand for land has increased notably, leading to record land prices.
Per hectare prices in the best areas of the Pampa´s are around US$5,700-7,000. However, land suitable for cultivation is sold for 60% of this price in provinces like Santiago del Estero and Salta.

On the other hand, good land suitable for the cultivation of cereals like wheat, go for around US$ 1,700-2,500 per hectare in the southwest of the province of Buenos Aires. As far as grazing land goes, in the Cuenca del Salado, one of the largest cattle production regions in the country, the winter pastureland hectare price is around US$ 2,100. At the same time, in the breeding areas the price is around US$ 900.

The interest in these lands doesn’t end there. Argentina is a country with a lot of forestry potential. Its land, which from north to south extends more than 4,000 kilometers, allows for the implantation of different species. The abundant and reliable precipitation, much like the climate and different types of soil, allow for foresting with a high growth rate. The best areas for implanting forests are: the Province of Misiones, the shores of the Rio Uruguay in Corrientes, Entre Rios, and Patagonia. In the majority of productive regions, forest implantation can be done without the toil of soil systemization, clearing or other methods that raise the plantation costs. It should be noted that Argentine laws do not have any environmental restrictions that limit forestry activities, since it is itself considered beneficial to the environment.

Lastly, interest in land purchasing can be completely economic. That is, as a future investment. A future that in Argentina seems guaranteed by its environmental quality, low ecological risk, and high life expectancy. Patagonia, and Mendoza wine country, in this case, leads the investment ranks with Hollywood stars and blown-away foreigners buying pieces of pristine land far away from everything, at very low and palatable prices.
